The new update introduces user accounts, with over 300 members already registered. Although current features are still few and far between, future developments are still to come. Users are encouraged to follow future updates to discover what's coming next.

I’m thrilled to update you on the progress of our library. There are lots of exciting things happening right now, and I wanted to take a moment to keep you informed about what’s going on. We’re working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring this project to life. This text is just a small glimpse into the colossal task of creating a new social network.
Authentication
First of all, as you may have already noticed, it is now possible to create a user account! This may seem trivial, but authentication was a crucial and complex step in the development of the site. I’m very proud to announce that we already have over 300 registered members, and this number keeps growing every day. 🎉
If you had an account on the old version of the site, simply create a new account using the same email address as before. You will then be recognized as a "veteran" member, a title that will grant you additional privileges when new features are launched. It’s our way of thanking you for your loyalty and continued support. The "veteran" title isn’t yet visible on your profile, but don’t worry—it will appear in a few weeks.
Small Steps for Now…
Currently, the available features are still quite limited: you can only add books to your personal library and write reviews. It’s not much, I admit, but it’s a start! You have to learn to walk before you can run. We’ll have to get used to seeing features being gradually rolled out over time. Development is progressing well, and I promise you that many new features are in the works. Our goal is to make KapiBook an ideal haven for all book lovers. It will be a little paradise.
As for Development…
In a month, the lead developer will finally be able to work full-time on this project. You know what that means: new features will come even faster! Yes, you’re right! We’ve been making the same promises for several years... That’s why we’re not asking you to take our word for it this time, but simply to stay with us and continue supporting us on this journey.
To keep you better informed about the development progress, future features will now be presented on the Roadmap page. It will be the best place to follow the development status and discover what’s coming next. It will also be the place to recommend new features if you have ideas.
Let’s Talk About Books!
Now, let’s move on to the subject that excites us all: books! Of course, not all of your favorite books are on the site yet, as the addition of books is still done manually. It’s a laborious process, but we’re taking the time to do things right. We’re exploring different solutions to expand our library automatically in the future.
You’ll also notice that book information is available in both languages (English and French). Simply switch the site language to see the books in the other language. This seemed essential to us, as we know some of you read in French, and we want the experience to be optimal for everyone.
Your Opinion… Your Feedback
A large portion of our users access the site via their phones. We’re therefore seriously considering developing a dedicated mobile app. If you’re interested, please let us know in the comments, specifying the type of devices you use most often (Android or iOS). For now, the current decision is leaning towards Apple’s platform (iOS), but we’ll have time to discuss it further in the future.
Speaking of comments, We also just added the option to comment on blog posts. This project aims to become a true social network centered around reading, and it’s important to create opportunities for exchange between us. So, feel free to give us your feedback directly through comments; it’s much more convenient than by email.
